About FunkFactory

FunkFactory is a discovery engine for crate-diggers. Most music apps feed you what the algorithms already know: the same playlists, the same chart-toppers, the same thirty seconds of a hook. FunkFactory does the opposite. Give it a track, an artist, a SoundCloud profile or even a DJ set link, and it digs across the web for the deeper cuts, B-sides, small-label releases and hidden gems that belong in the same set — the records an algorithm will never surface.

It is built for DJs, collectors and anyone who has run out of things to listen to. Every dig returns up to a hundred real, linked, buyable tracks with their BPM, key, label and genre, so you can move straight from discovering a track to playing it or buying it. You can also explore your SoundCloud likes, see what your library's sound actually looks like in the community charts, and organise everything you keep into crates with our tiering system — Rammers, Strong and Maybe — the way you would with real vinyl.

FunkFactory is built and maintained by the FunkFactory team — a small independent crew of DJs and developers who got tired of playlist algorithms deciding what music is worth hearing. There is no pay-to-play promotion here: the only ranking that matters is how close a track sounds to the one you started from.
